Ekol has never ceased investing in R&D and innovation and places Logistics 4.0 at the heart of its approach. In line with the strategy of applying the principles of Industry 4.0, Ekol’s R&D focus has put Logistics 4.0 at its center through digitalization and visualization, process integration via the internet and mobile applications, the creation of networks between objects, cloud computing and communications technologies and simulation and robotic systems.
The work of the unit encompasses fields such as vehicle routing, delivery network design, pricing, ergonomics, process analysis, quality management, capacity planning, facility design and investment planning. The Ekol R&D team follows interdisciplinary methodology, utilizing capacities from a number of fields in harmony including process development, optimization, simulation, software development, quality systems management and project management.
Ekol carries out R&D activities in conjunction with universities and other institutions in a range of fields, such as fleet optimization and route planning, load and network improvements with 3D loading models, business model development for warehouse management, delivery and delivery, automation systems design, flexible order preparation and packaging processes, order management software, demand management system design and transportation alternatives.
