COMPANY PROFILE
"Providing the Green Revolution with Excellent Quality Tin"
Summary
Mineração Taboca was founded in 1969 and operates in the mining and metallurgy of tin and industrial minerals. It is one of the few companies active in the world tin market to own its own mine, and the Pitinga Mine, located in the Amazon Region, is one of the richest in the world, with an estimated longevity of 100 years. It is important to note that all industrial operations in the Amazon are supported by electricity from a hydroelectric plant of its own, located 80 kilometers from the mine.
At the metallurgy plant of Mineração Taboca, located near São Paulo, it is where the concentrate of cassiterite (tin ore) from Pitinga is melted to obtain refined, high grade, 99.9% pure pewter.
Mineração Taboca is ISO 9001 certified and is the largest producer of refined tin in Brazil, supplying the domestic needs and exporting most of its production. Its tin is registered in the London Metal Exchange (LME), under the brand Mamoré, and internationally recognized for more than 20 years.
Taboca Mineração also operates in the markets of Nióbio and Tântalo, through its metal alloy FeNbTa, product obtained from the casting of the ore of columbita present in the mine of Pitinga.
Always focusing on growth, the company invests in mineral research and technologies aimed at the continuous improvement of its activities.
