Summary


Gold Fields belongs to Gold Fields Ltd. South African economic group, a corporation with more than 130 years of experience in the mining sector and recognized as one of the world's largest gold producers.

It has mining operations in South Africa, Ghana, Australia, Peru (Cerro Corona), as well as one project in Chile in the construction stage and one project in the Philippines. Our project in Chile, Salares Norte, has a mineral reserves estimation of 3.5 million oz gold and 39 million oz silver, equating to gold equivalent Reserves of 4.1 million oz. Cerro Corona, our operation in Peru, is located within the district and province of Hualgayoc, in the department of Cajamarca, and is a producer of high-quality copper and gold concentrate. It exports the concentrate by sea to smelters in Asia and Europe and is one of most recognized copper and gold-mining operations in Peru.

Our Offer


Cerro Corona is one of the most recognized gold and copper mining operations in the country. It produces copper and gold through conventional mining methods of open pit and sulphide mineral treatment via flotation to extract concentrate. The concentrate is characterized for having a copper content of around 21% and a high gold content of around 1 oz/mt.

Luis Rivera Ruiz Executive Vice President of Gold Fields Ltd. since October 2016. Luis leads the Americas Region and has been a member of the Board of Directors of Gold Fields in Peru since 2017.

Career: Geological Engineer from San Marcos University (UNMSM), Peru, with an MBA from Polytechnic University of Madrid and specialized studies at Kellogg School of Management.

Professional experience: • More than 30 years in mining operations and projects, having served as General Manager and Vice President of Operations. • General Manager at MMG Las Bambas Mining Company, as well as General Manager Copper at Glencore Peru and Executive General Manager for all Xstrata Copper Operations in Peru. Luis was also General Manager of the large Tintaya and Antapaccay copper operations, and the Xstrata Operations of Minera Alumbrera in Argentina for over a decade.
