Actiflo High-Rate Clarification ACTIFLO® is a compact high rate clarification system that uses microsand for enhanced flocculation and has been applied at mine sites for treatment of dilute surface water runoff. The use of the microsand results in a very small footprint, up to 20 times smaller than conventional clarification designs, and is highly efficient in the removal of finely divided colloidal particles, metal hydroxides and metal salts.
AnoxKaldnes Moving Bed Biofilm Reactor The AnoxKaldnes MBBR process is a stand-alone biological treatment system with no need for sludge recycle or backwashing of the media. The process uses specially designed plastic carriers to provide a suitable environment of bacterial populations to thrive. The carrier elements are retained within the reactor with screens. Aeration is delivered through customized aeration grids or specially designed mixers that maintain a complete mixed environment inside the reactors. In mining applications, the process can be used as a nitrification/ denitrification system to remove explosive residues in water. The technology has also been applied for selenium removal and saline water effluent for discharge to the environment.
Hydrotech Discfilter The Hydrotech Discfilter is a woven media filter for fine solids removal and product recovery. The Discfilter offers a large filter area in a small footprint. The compact design of the Discfilter makes this system a good choice for recirculation systems, effluent polishing of wastewater, fine filtration of intake water or other applications where a space-saving filter with fine filter openings and larger filter area is required.
