The School of Mining and Mineral resources is the latest extension of UA’s rich history of successful interdisciplinary programs and top-tier mining education. At the University of Arizona, our School of Mining and & Mineral Resources is dedicated to supporting the interdisciplinary units and departments across campus. Collectively, the University offers some of the most comprehensive mining education programs in the country including mining engineering, economic geology, mining law, and a minor in sustainable minerals resources that is available to all majors.
Our research centers, such as the Center for Environmentally Sustainable Mining, the Lowell Institute for Mineral Resources, the Geotechnical Center of Excellence, and the Mine Safety Center are at the forefront of developing solutions to the multifaceted challenges facing the mining industry today.
