Prospect Generator in South America

Summary

Latin Metals is a resource exploration company focused on precious metals and copper projects in historically resource-rich regions of South America, specifically in Peru and Argentina. The company operates on a prospect generator model, focusing on the acquisition of prospective exploration properties at minimum cost, followed by initial evaluation through cost-effective exploration to establish drill targets. Latin Metals ultimately secures joint venture partners to fund drilling and advanced exploration, and in doing so, exposes shareholders to the upside of mineral discoveries while conserving capital and minimising dilution.

Leadership

KEITH HENDERSON President, CEO & Director

Mr. Henderson has over 30 years’ global experience in the mineral exploration industry throughout Africa, Europe, and North and South America. He was educated in Europe, graduating with B.Sc. (Hons) and M.Sc. in geology and has extensive experience in multiple mineral deposit types and commodities. Keith worked with Anglo American Exploration in Europe and North America, leading a number of exploration projects and ultimately, he was appointed project manager for Anglo Coal as the company made its first entry into Canada. In 2007, Keith joined Cardero Resource Corp. as Executive Vice-President, where he played a critical role in advancing the Pampa de Pongo through a positive scoping study and ultimate sale for US$100 million cash. He was formerly President & CEO at Dorato Resources and is currently President & CEO at Velocity Minerals Inc. (TSX.V: VLC), focused on gold exploration in Bulgaria.

DR. MARIO CASTELLI President, Argentina

Dr. Castelli is President of Cardero Argentina, Latin Metals’ subsidiary in Argentina, and a Founding Partner in Law Firm Estudio Castelli - López Arias Reston & Asociates. He is a lawyer with more than 30 years’ experience specializing in exploration and mining and has been involved with Latin Metals’ and its predecessor companies since 2015. Dr. Castelli has held various advisory and senior positions with state agencies at federal, provincial and municipality level, including with the Standing Advisory Committee on Legislative Treatment (Federal Environment National Counsel), which established, among other things, minimum standards for environmental protection. In Salta Province, Dr. Castelli has held various positions, including personal advisor of the Minister of Government, Justice and Human Rights, and advisor for the Representative of Foreign Relations. In addition to his education as a lawyer, Dr. Castelli has completed post-graduate education, including a Masters degree in Environmental Management.

EDUARDO LEON Exploration Manager, Peru

Mr. Leon worked as a Senior geologist on Lumina Copper's Taca Taca project in northern Argentina from 2011-12, where he helped manage a large drilling campaign which resulted in a major copper-gold porphyry discovery and later, the purchase of Lumina by First Quantum Minerals for US$470M. Thereafter, Eduardo held a variety of senior technical positions with companies working in Peru, Mexico, El Salvador, Nicaragua and Brazil. Most recently, from 2017-19, he served as Exploration Manager in Peru for Auryn Resources, where he contributed to the development of the Sombrero and Curibaya projects. Eduardo holds a degree in Geology from San Marcos University in Lima, Peru and has 16 years of exploration experience.

Main projects

Partner Funded Exploration

• Organullo Project, Argentina

AngloGold has commenced exploration at the Organullo project, Salta Province, Argentina, and Latin Metals expects to receive initial exploration results later in the year. Environmental Impact Assessments (“EIA”) have been submitted to provincial authorities in preparation for drilling, which is expected to begin in Q1 2023, subject to availability of drill rigs and receipt of permits.

• Cerro Bayo Project, Argentina

Barrick’s exploration is ongoing at Cerro Bayo in Santa Cruz Province, Argentina. Work to date has included mapping, sampling and geophysics, and Latin Metals expects to provide an update in Q4. Barrick intends to begin drilling at Cerro Bayo in Q1 2023.

• Esperanza Project, Argentina

Libero Copper and Gold (“Libero”) (TSXV: LBC), a mineral exploration company that holds a collection of porphyry copper deposits throughout the Americas, has submitted an EIA to provincial authorities for planned exploration activities at the Esperanza copper-gold project and work is expected to begin in due course.

Project Pipeline

• Lacsha Copper Project, Peru

The Company’s Lacsha copper project in Peru has brought exploration success during the last 18 months. Work this year has focused on securing a drill permit and a partner to fund the drilling. Working towards a drill permit, Latin Metals has executed a 3-year agreement with the local community and the Peruvian governmental authorities have approved the Company’s initiation of the drill permitting process. As part of the permitting process, all environmental and archaeological field work has been completed and reports accepted and approved by the relevant governmental authorities. Final steps now include a public hearing in September and issuance of the drill permit if the process is successful.

• Auquis Copper-Gold Project, Peru

Exploration work at the Auquis copper discovery is ongoing with additional rock sampling in progress and geophysics planned for Q4. It is expected that the project will be partner-ready in early 2023.

The Company continues to seek properties for acquisition so that the pipeline of projects available for partners remains full.
